Sabah Island History
The names of the islands are symbolic, given by the early discoverers. Manukan island for fish, Mamutik island for sea shells, Sapi island represents the sound of buffalo, Gaya island meaning big, and Sulug island for the ancestry of the Sulu people of Sabah.
The Islands in Tunku Abdul Rahman Park comprise of Pulau Manukan, Pulau Mamutik, Pulau Sapi, Pulau Gaya and Pulau Sulug. In case you are wondering, pulau is the malay term for island. These islands are located in Tunku Abdul Rahman Park which is the second National Park in Sabah. It was gazatted to protect the fauna, flora and marine eco-system found in Sabah.
Pulau Mantanani is a group of three isolated northwest of Kota Belud, 80 kilometres North of Kota Kinabalu. It was so isolated in fact that not until recently, only a few locals knew the existence of the islands. Snorkeling in Mantanani island, now unveil a remaining secret by exploring the most diverse marine life. The island, shaped like knife has a beach that stretches up to 2500 metres. The fact that this thin island has never been commercialized, secures its hidden secrets from great number of divers. The island promises the most diverse marine life with visibility up to metres. Many species of rays flutter around like blue spotted ray and marbled sting ray amongst carge schools of fish. Besides that muck diving is excellent with the quiet existence of imperial shrimps, jaw fish ribbon eels, seahorses, pink-eyed goobles and the jaw-dropping blue ringed octopus, amidst nudibranch of all sorts.

0830hrs pick up from the city hotel and transfer to jetty for about 15 - 20 minutes boat ride to Manukan Island Manukan Island and at 1130hrs, onboard and transfer to Mamutik Island

Simple Itinerary :-
0730hrs meet at your hotel. And travel approximately 1hour 45minutes to Kuala Abai for your boat schedule at 0930hrs. The boat will take 1hour (depend on sea condition) to reach the island, upon arrival you will be brief for your diving/snorkeling excursion. Lunch will be provided by 1300hrs and thereafter the boat schedule coming back from Island is at 1500hrs. You will be brought back to your hotel respectively.

Discover Scuba Dive
Simple Itinerary :-
0830hrs meet at your hotel. And transfer to jetty for 0900hrs boat ride to Tunku Abdul Rahman Park's Island for diving. On arrival, will have 3 hours instruction given. After the instruction will have your shallow water practice with 1 dive. After your first dive you may free at own leisure till transfer back to jetty. Once you arrive jetty, you will transfer back to your respective hotel.

Leisure Diving (Certified Diver)
Simple Itinerary :-
0830hrs meet at your hotel. And transfer to jetty for 0900hrs boat ride to Tunku Abdul Rahman Park's Island for diving. On arrival, a short brief will given by dive master. After your briefing you may to have your first dive which instruct by dive master. And after 45minutes you may take your rest. After that proceed another dive. Done your 2nd dive will transfer you back to jetty. Once you arrive jetty, you will transfer back to your respective hotel.
